Banish Fear -- now look at the legs on that guy. The horse not Doug!
About Us! Well where do we start? We are the Kroeger's!! Doug, Denise, and Rion.
So one of the most asked questions of us is "What is Jackmanii?" Well, it is the dark purple clematis, a creeping flowering vine that you see in various colors while driving around. I planted jackmanii's at my home because I remember them blooming at my grandparents house and being the first generation not born on the farm but returning to it we are honoring our grandparents and their hard work on the land that have made our lives possible. We are now in our 3rd winter at the barn and looking forward to 20 more. I continue to teach at Scott and Doug is normally doing whatever a carpenter does each day. He is actively working several horses and knows I always have something else for him to fix. Rion is still doing very well in school and is a delight with Raleigh how her autistic brain processes items. The discussions those 2 have on lesson nights are becoming legendary. We are expecting a new arrival sometime in mid-July so will keep everyone posted but not planning on setting up a baby cam anytime soon. We now have 6 horses Banish Fear, Harvey Stewart, TaVerne Troyer, Red, Joe, and Dakota.. Some are from adoption programs and have proved to be worth their hay in gold. TaVerne was our first foster baby and we just had to keep him. If you get the chance to met him you will see why. Banish is a TB off the track by 3 then retrained for Grand Prix. When he developed floating bone chips in his knees he was retired. He is from the Lazy Maple Equine Rescue and Recovery in Illinois. In his photos he is a bit "ribby" but as a true TB he is proving to be a hard keeper, thank goodness for Nutrena Senior. Years of hard work have taken their toll on Banish's front legs so he is basically a buddy now with a few occasional rides but he will finish his days with us. Harvey is a retired pacer/trotter, yes he can do both, off the track by 10. His owner passed away and he was gifted to a niece. She donated him to the American Standardbred Program out of Wisconsin. Now he is the opposite of Banish with a big grass belly. He is a quiet fellow that was a hit at Iowa Horse Fair in 2006 and will be back in 2007. TaVerne was born breech and had to have surgery on his knees to keep him sound. He was trained on the cart but broke out of pace without his hobbles so he was graciously donated to the American Standardbred Program. He has such a great attitude and almost unflappable for a 4yr old. Red is a classic Tenneessee Walking horse. His man John was looking for someone to love on him and take him through his retirement years so here he is. I thought he would be for me but Rion took him and they have never looked back. Joe and Dakota came to us this spring and are finally filled in. We have both for sale to the right home. Excellent boys that are ready for anything. Thank you for visiting Jackmanii Farm's website. Stop by anytime! Denise Kroeger
Harvey Stewart -- doing what he does best; EATING And TaVerne Troyer (yes he is named after Mini Me Verne Troyer). His previous owner has the top earning STB in Illinois Mini Me so it is a small play on words.
